Talking can help.
You don’t need to carry it all alone.

Couple’s Therapy

A relationship can be a beautiful gift in someone’s life, but from time to time, it can also turn into an intimate challenge. Due to everyday stress, it can be that you got disconnected from your loved one. Or perhaps, you feel you have a hard time opening up about your feelings. Emotionally Focused Couples Therapy is a counselling approach that focuses on emotions and helps couples reconnect in a truthful and deep way. Exercises are tried in a safe space where the therapist can coach the couple and foster opennes and vulnearibilty, so that real love can bloom again.

Counselling for Expats

To arrive as an expat in an unknown country can have a huge impact on your mental health. One has to adapt to a new environment, both physically and emotionally. Getting to know new people happens at the same time as getting used to another culture. This experience comes with excitement but can also bring about substancial mental stress, uncertainty and worry.
Having a professional to talk to, share the thoughts and the fears can ease the burden. Confabs offers counselling for Expats in English and Portuguese.

Client-centered Counselling

Following Carl Rogers’ teachings, the practice of person-centred humanistic counselling places the client at the center. In a safe, open and judgement-free environment, unconditional positive regard is provided, so that the self-actualization instinct naturally present in each individual can take place. Perhaps you’ve had a stressful work period and want to discuss that, or you’d like to go on a journey of self-exploration: possibilities are endless, as sessions are client-led. This includes solution-focused therapy, where the client sets the direction to sail together towards your goal.

My name is Fabíola de Andrade,

nice that you are here.

I grew up in São Paulo and there I did a Bachelor degree in Communication. In 2009, I immigrated to the Netherlands following a job opportunity. Work life was great, but soon I felt a calling towards working more closely with people and being in a helping profession.

In 2014 I started my journey in Counselling, at the Academy for Counselling & Coaching in The Hague, which I finished in 2016; and then have specialized further through the years with complementary courses. In 2019 I started a MSc in Psychology at the University of Glasgow, which was followed by a Minor in Social Neuroscience at Utrecht University. Counselling and neuroscience are both passions of mine, and I think those two interests complement and strengthen each other in my practice.

Nowadays I practice integrative counselling, which is humanistic and client-centered, following the teachings of Carl Rogers. Openness, acceptance and trust in the individual are my core values as a therapist, and I look forward to learning about ways in which I can be helpful.
